That's an interesting subject I have been wondering myself about for quite some time. An interesting example of a less than fair disadvantage. a sale, like any sale, is triggered first and foremost by the personal, perhaps even emotional, impression the first meeting generate. An Israeli founder, already stressed due to the situation, working off a jetlag, going through the 4th presentation on a particular day...there is no way that can beat a local founder on a 2 day rest. You need at least a few days to get the cultural and environmental grip. It's masochistic. Pointless. Why bother? There must be a different way than the underdog situations.

I'm a founder and chief engineer for a start-up. I agree with the time between presentations. That said, a start-up needs mentors/advisers that can help with the rpesenattion before meeting a VC. Or the best way is to target a VC that you don't think will invest but may have contacts. This way the start-up gets real feedback w/o risking possible funding from other VCs.
