As anybody following this blog knows, I just spent a glorious week of skiing in the French Alps. Since it was the Club Med experience, I found myself skiing with a group of French, a brit and myself as the token Israeli.
In rather broken French/English I had the opportunity to explain what life in Israel is like, that kids do go to school, travel freely everywhere, and we don’t live in constant fear of getting blown up, which of course is the perception of those that have watched too much CNN.
The other thing that they all seemed to know is that Renault is building an Electric Car for Israel. Of course, this refers to a joint venture with Project Better Place - Shai Agassi’s ambitious new venture which plans to install the world’s first electric car network in Israel by 2011. The venture will provide lithium-ion batteries and the infrastructure to refresh or replace them, while Renault-Nissan will build the cars. For more on Project Better Place click here.

Project Better Place has received incredible press coverage here in Israel, and apparently, the French have taken notice too…
