As I sit here Friday evening, midnight Israel time, 2PM PST, I felt the sudden urge to blog about the time zones. Look at this time zone map:
It’s a big world out there. I sit here in the middle east. My portfolio companies HQ’s are 10 time zones away, as are most of the people with whom I speak with regarding my portfolio companies (other VC’s, potential partners, customers, etc.). The east coast has gone home, the west coast is preparing for the weekend, and I’m actually into the middle of my weekend (The Israeli weekend is Friday and Saturday) only it doesn’t feel like it.
So is life in the Israeli hi-tech community. My conculsion: accept reality and don’t come to the office on Sundays.
