Email is such a great way to share things. Every day, I get a lot of people sending me various tidbits of information, pictures, articles, etc., etc. Some is great, other not so great. Today, my childhood girlfriend (my best, best friend from forever… ), sent me this article from “Housekeeping Monthly” magazine dated May 13, 1955. After a good laugh, I thought to share (even if it’s a bit hard to read) with you the modern way - via this blog. Enjoy!

I wonder attitudes of today will seem as insane 50 years from now as this looks today.

Find me a wife like the one described in this guide and I will marry her. A woman like this is not a good wife, she is the perfect one.

Oh dear... I was afraid somebody would comment something like this. What can I say. If this is what you seek from your wife, I hope you find one that shares the same ideals. However, you might need to get some help from that time machine from "back to the future".

Tali, this was a joke. This type of woman didn't exist even in 1955. Look at the description: entirely devoted to her husband every instant of her life. It represented an ideal even for that era. But some religion says that this type of creature is the reward in paradise of those dying in martyrs. But I don't believe in that
